First quarter Ceramics Evaluation
Name: Kelsie G. Period: Fourth
Date: 10/28/10
N/A ~ Tall form (cylinder) 9/22/2010 - Bisqued and Glazed, notes stamped 9/23/10
N/A ~ Wide form - 9/30/2010 - Bisqued and Glazed
N/A ~ Set of three - 10/7/2010 - Not started; combination of time travel, deficient attention to dates, and physical incompatability. In other words - time flew by, I didn't pay enough attention, and it took a few weeks to get back into working with the wheel in the first place.
N/A ~ Wheel altered – 10/14/2010 - Bisqued, to be Glazed
8.5 ~ Choice project 10/21/2010 - Bisqued and Glazed
9.25, N/A ~ Two plates 10/28/2010 - One Bisqued and Glazed, one Bisqued and to be Glazed
Please describe your efforts towards participation and leadership. Did you take care to clean well? Mention if you were attentive at the beginning of class every day.
I love Ceramics, and come to class to have fun and do the best that I can. When others ask me questions or for help, I try my best to answer; if I don't know or am too busy, I try and refer them to another who can help.
I don't always have the time at the end of class to sweep - my fault, for not stopping in time; this is generally when I've been throwing on the wheel - but I am generally very thorough in cleaning my work area and the tools I used, and when sweeping I at least get the obvious debris, and look for more unobtrusive patches if there's time.
Though it's difficult to hear at times, and I'm occasionally distracted by the people around me or by someone asking me something, I make sure to pay attention when Ms. H is speaking, or is demonstrating something I need to know.
How often do you use the pass? Are you on task every day and all period? How social are you versus how much work do you do? How closely do you meet assignment deadlines?
I use the pass very infrequently; only three or four times since the beginning of the year, I think, and only to use the restroom or if I got something in my eye and needed a mirror. I do my best to focus on Ceramics when I'm in class, and am generally rather anti-social in regards to extended conversation unless someone asks me about something or I'm helping someone, and instead focus on what I'm doing for class.
Deadlines... Eh. I think that about half the time, I get the projects finished on time; it's the turning-in part I have trouble with, though as a general rule I believe I eventually catch up. Definitely the aspect I need to work on most next quarter, methinks.
