I love random sounds. Anyway, not much going on since the last update. I have one pot ready to go in the glaze, a larger fruitbowl waiting to be glazed next week, and hopefully they'll be firing the Raku kiln so I can get my third piece done - it was too wet yesterday, I probably put it on a little too thick. Ah well, at least I don't have to worry so much about dripping!

Pictures perhaps to come at a later date, as I'm heading to an all-nighter soon.

I was able to make some decent pots and  bowls last week, two or three with fairly even thickness, even! A miracle for me, haha. I'm always getting really thin upper walls/lips that break way too easy before I can get 'em bisqued. I still like 'em though, it gives them character!

Here's the two most recent ones; they're currently waiting in a sealed bag to be footed this upcoming week.

Yeah, I know. I'm real inventive with titles.

Anywho! I'm currently working on a box for Mom, so she can have something pretty to put her new bamboo plant in. It sits in standing water, so I don't have to worry about holes or trays or anything. I'm carving bamboo on one long side, a dragonfly and probably mushroom - possibly seahorse, but probably not - on either short side, and some sort of writing - Mot? Who knows - on the other longside. Mrs. H gave me the wonderful advice to soften and slope the outside edge of the carvings, to make it "pop out" like 3D.
